Trevor and Selu

Laura

Lined up for the 4x4

Getting ready to race!!

Thursday: After school we warmed up and ran around, did some sprints, all that stuff, then got on the bus and headed to Reno. The bus ride was really hot... we were on the bus for at least 5 hours. All fo the boys brought their Pokemon games and thats what they did the whole entire ride! I sat by Laura and we just talked. After that very long bus ride we got to the restaraunt we were eating at where all the seniors gave speeches, and Ryan and Tyler sang their Track song. They took the song Party in the USA and made up their own lyrics to it... "I hopped on the bus at 2 a.m....." I can't remember the rest. We got done eating around ten and went to our hotel. Julia invited us to go to her room for cake and stuff for her birthday. We were all just talking then our coach, Scott, came in to check on us and we ended up talking about his job, a Police officer. He told us a whole bunch of stories about what he's seen. They were all pretty scary and kinda funny... Selu, Laura and I went back to our room and ended up talking some more we didn't really get a lot of sleep that night... haha

Friday: Woke up... ate breakfast... got on the bus... and went to the Grand Sierra Resort to just mess around. The meet didn't start until two, so this was a fun way to kill time. I went bowling with Laura and then a whole group of us including all of our coaches went to go play laser tag. And we did just that.. we played 3 rounds. Then we went to go get pizza.

We headed to the meet which was pretty miserable because it was so windy! Everyone was huddled together with a whole bunch of blankets trying to stay warm. I had a lot of fun just watching the races! Kayla, another one of the freshman that made it to State, won in Long jump, while her older sister got 4 wins. By the end of Friday, Spring Creek Girl's were winning State!

Saturday: We had to wake up earlier this time. The meet started at 8. It snowed, and the wind did blow but not as bad as Friday. I was really nervous about racing, I really wanted someone to shoot me! We were getting ready to run, warming up, stretching, and before I knew it I was running. The thing I was probably the most worried about, was someone passong me. No one did, but after the race, Dad told me that two girls were right behind me, they just didn't pass me! Our 4x4 team is now ranked 5th in the state! This whole meet was so much fun!

On the way home there were only 7 people on the bus because evryone left for Prom, or they just wanted to go home because they didn't have anymore events. Mainly prom, though.

Regionals

So, let's start from the beginning...
We left school on Friday and headed to Winnemucca. The meet started at 3, when it was starting to cool down! We ended up having 3 school records broken! Everyone did good in their events! My friend Selu got fifth in Discus so she qualified for state! In each event, the top five go to state. At this point I was wondering if I would even qualify! I was way nervous even though i wasn't running that day.
I enjoyed myself going back and forh between shade and sun, while at the same time just hangin' out.
At around nine thirty was the boys 4x4 relay. Probably the most intense race I've ever seen. The Truckee coach was talking some crap about how our boys were going to get smoked in this race, and at the beginning of the race we were! Our anchor, Austin took off and got in front of Truckee which brought us to first!! During this race there wasn't a spot open on the fence or bleachers to watch!
We spent the night at the smallest hotel I've ever slept in! 4 girls and a very small bathroom... Luckily I got up first and was able to get reeady before the bathroom got crowded! Haha!
Saturday was the day I was running the 4x4. I felt like I was going to throw up! Looking at the Track before I had to run it looked so big, and I had to sprint around it... People kept telling me run fast, and run until you pass out, and a whole bunch of other stuff that added to my nervousness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The race was at the end of the day, by that time I just wanted to get it over with!
My time was okay. I improved by three seconds. I love how our coaches position themselveves at each corner of the track, and tell us (more like yell at us) what to do while we're running. Usually one of the coaches is at the last 200 near the home stretch telling me to pump my arms, that's when I usually hit a wal and die, and get all tense. I didn't see her there! But Jaysen and my friend Tyler were standing there and Tyler was yelling at me to pump my arms, so I did!
WE QUALIFIED FOR STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I told mom to bring the camera for me but she didn't so I have no pictures.... :( Sorry.
